The 40 Meter off-center fed dipole is in the air and on the air! After some tweaking and tinkering on the antenna and the homemade 4:1 balun, the antenna was raised to around 40 feet between a couple of trees with the assistance of KD4BO and his “spud gun.” The antenna seems to be working well so far. Although the antenna is designed and built for the 40 meter band, I did manage to check in on the Alabama Traffic Net – Mike (ATN-M) last night on 3.965 MHz (80/75 Meter band.) Propagation seems great with this antenna. The radiating elements are oriented roughly North-South. I will post some updates after further testing.
